About the event
"Probe or rays" - a title that describes everyday practice well. When or until when can I rely on diagnostic strategies without X-rays? And when do I need an X-ray image for therapy planning? Which X-ray image makes sense and what are the technical possibilities? This year's program covers the entire spectrum of radiation protection, from correct indication to artifact reduction on X-ray images. X-rays are able to penetrate hard tissue and thus provide a pleasingly detailed view of our field of work in dentistry. A fascinating technology with a lot of potential.
So I am particularly pleased to present the program for the 35th Annual Meeting of the Swiss Society of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology (SGDMFR) on May 31, 2023. We will cover an overview of practice-relevant topics ranging from basic periodontal diagnostics to peri-implant diagnostics in short presentations by highly experienced speakers. In addition, we look forward to the presentation of alternative diagnostic concepts without X-rays, as well as the presentation of the radiological future.
As always, with this exciting program, we are giving you the opportunity to complete the radiation protection continuing education lessons required by the FOPH with this Annual Meeting.
Traditionally, the SGDMFR offers young researchers working in the field of imaging the opportunity to present their work as part of the Young Investigator Competition. We are looking forward to many exciting applications. The best applicants will be invited to present their work at the Annual Meeting.
The SGDMFR Board looks forward to welcoming you in Basel or online.
With warm, collegial greetings
Dr. D. Dagassan-Berndt, President SGDMFR
