Further education program

These regulations are based on the SIWF/FMH Further Education Regulations (FBO) of April 25, 2002, the Federal Law on the University Medical Professions (MedBG) of June 23, 2006, and the Guidelines for the Recognition of Further Education Events of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences SAMS.

The aim of the training is:

Compentencies
To maintain the medical competencies acquired in training and continuing education
Promotion
To promote ownership of health and professional policies.
Development
To update the medical competence once acquired due to the development of medicine.

The further training shall be structured and verifiable. The scope of further training should be 80 hours per year, irrespective of the degree of employment: of which 50 hours should be basic further training and 30 hours self-study.
