While it is well known that sleep apnea significantly increases the risk of developing diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebral accidents, infarc- tus, hypertension and diabetes, studies also highlight the links between sleep apnea and ophthalmological complications, such as diabetic maculopathy, glaucoma and vascular, retinal and optic nerve pathologies.
